The Word of God is light. Haven’t you heard, it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path? (Psalm 119:105) For a Bible-Believing Believer, this shouldn’t be a cliche. Light will command darkness any day. Darkness always flees in the presence of light. Any time there is darkness, absence of light and lack of understanding in someone’s life, it is a time of frustration, uncertainty, confusion, disappointment, desperation and hopelessness. It is a time of weeping…
And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. (Revelation 5:4)
Before opening of the Book, there is weeping. But I’m here to tell you that because you have the Lion of the Tribe of Judah on your side, as you settle down and open the Book (your Bible) and read it with holy reverence, this will change!
When Ezra opened the book the people stood in holy reverence to the Word of God. He praised the Lord and the people’s response was “Amen! Amen!” I want to believe that this was not a whisper. (Nehemiah 8:5-6)
The Levites made the Word clearer so that the people could understand what was being read. (Nehemiah 8:7-8)
Thank God for ministers of the gospel who make the Word clear and give it meaning so we can understand the scriptures.
Listen: When you get understanding from the Book, nothing is permitted to plague your life any more. You suddenly realize that there is a way out, there is a way up and there is a breakthrough waiting to happen! When the Word of God concerning you hits home you stop weeping and start celebrating. This is a time of great joy. (Nehemiah 8:9-12)
The entrance of thy words giveth light, giving understanding unto the simple. – Psalm 119:130
